Moving-container apparatus; mixing in definite proportions.- Relates to apparatus for the manufacture of alikaline hydrates and zinc sulphide by the process described in Specification No. 28,433, A.D. 1904, [Abridgment Class Acids, alkalies, &c.]. The receptacle a has a double bottom a heated by steam or other medium. Granulated zinc and caustic alkali are heated in the rotary iron drum b ; this drum has perforated sides and bottom and is divided into compartments by perforated iron walls, either radial as in Fig. 2 or radial and transverse as in Fig. 3. The drum is secured to a vertical shaft cresting in bearings c , c , c and rotated by the gearing shown. The receptacle a is hermetically closed by the cover a , and is connected by the tubes g, h to a pressure regulator i, in which the hydrogen, by means of floats, levers k, l, and valve m, controls the supply of sulphide from the vessel v.
