Zusammenfassung: | 4535. Appleyard, C. Feb. 24. Washing - machines. - The revolving metallic cylinder or drum of a rotary washing-machine is built up out of a number of speciallyshaped segments. Figs. 1 and 2 show a single segment, which is bent to form a trough - shaped projection C and turned up at the edges B. The segments are hooped together and fitted into recesses on the end-plates of the drum. The internal projections thus formed act as beaters, and the external ones as stirrers. Both the concave and convex parts of the cylinder are perforated. Doors are provided in the cylinder and in the external casing of the machine. |
