Zusammenfassung: | 4432. Wadsworth, B., and Fairbank, D. Feb. 23. Mules and twiners.-The angle-lever which normally supports the long lever during the inward run of the carriage is provided with means for giving a more gradual descent to the long lever, as the carriage moves the angle-lever away. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the free end of the long lever a rests on the head e of the spindle e, which is mounted in bearings d, d' on the pivoted angle-lever b. The up and down movements of the spindle are limited by the projection b and collar e'. Under the weight of the mule carriage, the spindle is gradually depressed against the tension of the compression spring f, until the carriage strikes the stud h and moves the lever b and head e clear of the lever a at the proper moment for fully changing the strap from the loose to the fast pulley. In a modification, a roller spindle i, Fig. 4, mounted on a brackec i is used in combination with a fixed step on the lever b, or this roller i may be combined with the first arrangement with the spindle e and spring f. |
