Zusammenfassung: | 25,619. Couper, A. A. M. Nov. 24. Feeding - bottles; stoppers.-Relates to means for regulating the flow of food through the teat of a feeding-bottle for infants and invalids, and for venting the bottle. The bottle is fitted with a plug cock h , Figs. 1 and 2, the casing C of which is made preferably of a transparent material, such as glass or celluloid, and the plug of glass. The cock is secured to the bottle by a screw or bayonet joint. The passage through the casing is large enough to enable a brush to pass for cleaning. A washer e ensures a tight joint. The venting-device consists of a rubber stud-shaped valve k inserted in a hole in the side of the bottle. The external flange m is perforated at n to allow air to enter and to pass the shank of the stud into the bottle. The knob inside prevents the escape of fluid from the bottle. An india-rubber tension band q, Fig. 2, is placed round the ball c of the casing, and engages with a slight depression in the head of the plug, to hold the plug in its place, while allowing of easy removal. A teat is fitted to the top end of the casing, as shown. The bottle is formed with rounded corners at the bottom to facilitate cleaning and with a flat bottom, and is graduated on one side for tea spoons, and on the other for ounces or half-ounces. |
