24,642. Brown, D. A. D. Nov. 13. Seat protectors; seats and seat backs. -In tramcar and like seats, the covers are made with wire frames and hinged to upright arms carrying the seat back. These arms are pivoted to the seat standards and held upright by a counterpoise a or by a blade spring fastened to the floor. The cover may be made in two parts for double seats and be wide enough to protect one when the other is in use. The cover forms a back-rest when the seat is in use. In fine weather, the covers are held up by a catch, and wire netting is placed below the hinges to prevent pocket-picking.
