Zusammenfassung: | 15,580. Hodgman, W. K. Nov. 10, A.D. 1902, [date applied for under Patents Act, A.D. 1901]. D e l i v e r y apparatus.- Sheet-delivery apparatus for printing-machines is shown in Figs. 1 and 2 as applied to a two - revolution machine. The sheet passes from the impression cylinder B and over stripping-fingers f to two interposed sets of tapes d , d , and thence on a carrier L, through which it falls into a pile box R. The tapes d , d are driven at different speeds, the tapes d preferably at the speed of the impression cylinder B, and the tapes d at a less speed, preferably that of the carrier L. The tapes d are movable vertically at the front end, to transfer the sheet from the tapes d . For this purpose, the front guide-pulleys of the tapes d are carried on a shaft g , which is mounted in arms g on a shaft g mounted in brackets D. Another arm g on the shaft g is connected to a slotted rod h provided with a pin or roller h engaging a cam h on a shaft h, which is driven from the driving-mechanism of the printing-machine. The front guide-pulleys of the tapes d are carried on a shaft d' mounted in arms d on the movable frame of the cylinder B. One arm d carries gear d intermeshing with gear d' on the shaft d and a gear on the cylinder B. The stripping-fingers f are carried by a rod f mounted in the arms d. The rear guide-pulleys of the tapes d , d are carried, respectively, on shafts k, l mounted in arms of brackets E, and the shaft i is driven through gear i', i from a large gear l connected with the carrier L. The carrier L and box R are supported by a skeleton framework E, F, G, H. The carrier L comprises two endless chains connected at certain points by one or more sets of bridges M, N. The chains are carried on sprocketwheels 12, m mounted on shafts l , l mounted in the brackets E, H. The shaft l is driven from the driving-mechanism of the printing-machine, and carries the gear l. Each bridge M, N comprises a shaft n mounted in the chains and provided with flat arms. The shafts n are preferably recessed at one end to fit on extended link pins n , and are reduced at the opposite end to the size of the link pins n', and provided with sleeves n to fit on the pins n'. Arms n on the sleeves n carry pins or rolls n running in a groove in the framing, so that the bridge arms are brought into a horizontal plane, to receive the sheet. The first shaft of each set of bridges is provided with front stop fingers o for the sheet. Rear stop fingers p are carried by a sh |
