Zusammenfassung: | 5442. Andrew, A. G. March 7, A.D. 1902, [date applied for under Patents Act, A.D. 1901]. Firebars and grates.-A series of fixed cross-bars C are supported in dovetailed or other recesses B in a pair of lateral members A. Upon each bar C is hung a rocking bar F, through openings in the top of which the surfaces of C project in such a manner as to lie in substantially the same plane. The bars F, shown in section in Fig. 5, have two side members G with webs K, H, I at their ends and at the middle, where they rest on corresponding depressions in the bars C. The end web K is prolonged, and fits in a socket in a longitudinal rocker-bar L extending the length of the grate and reciprocated in any suitable manner. The upper surfaces of C and F are preferably corrugated, and each set of bars tapers downwards in section to facilitate the fall of the fuel into the ashpit. |
