Zusammenfassung: | 24,351. McQuitty, R. A. Nov. 6. Cans and canisters.-Boxes or tins, preferably made of tin-plate metal, for holding and packing mechandise, such as tea, coffee, &c., are fastened by tongues e, cast out of the boxes at diametricallyopposite sides, which are adapted to enter slits c in the flanges of the lids, the slits having prolongations d, in which the tongues enter by rotating the lids. The tongues e are then bent down over the tongues f formed by the slits in the flanges, and are secured by sealed bands passed around the tins. Shoulders g on the tongues f serve to hold the tongues e in place. |
