Zusammenfassung: | 21,561. Allison, R. St. J. Oct. 3. Gateposts.-The posts are formed hollow by casting or moulding them of cement or other plastic and hard-setting material, or of clay which is afterwards fired. The base is preferably formed with a flange b, which serves to support a movable flange c by which a firm anchorage is obtained, the flange c and the post being grooved to receive the cementing-material, as shown. Provision is made for bolts to secure the finial or top D, and also for bolts E carrying the hinge-pintles e ; but, according to the Provisional Specification, the hinge-pintles &c. may be secured to the post by hoops &c. The bolts E are preferably flat in front, to prevent rotation. The posts may be filled with suitable material. |
