Improved Massaging Instrument or Apparatus

Massage.-A spindle b passing through a handle a and driven through a flexible shaft by a suitable motor, carries a crosshead d, on which is mounted a screw e with a weighted head f. The screw actuates a nut g, which is arranged to turn in an angle-piece i carried by a spring k, the lower part of which is connected to a plate m for effecting the massaging. The plate m is fixed to a bracket n carried by the handle a. The rotation of the head &c. gives a vibratory motion to the plate m through the spring k, owing to the weight f being unbalanced. The vibration can be adjusted by moving the nut g by means of the screw e.
