Zusammenfassung: | 14.732. Murray, T. B., and Fulton, N. O. July 2. Dynamos; magneto-electric machines.-A two-pole magneto-electric generator or dynamo, especially suitable for igniting the charges of internal-combustion engines, is fitted with a fixed ring-shaped armature A formed with a gap E at one side and a reduced portion, on which a coil F having suitable leads is wound, at the other. The armature may be laminated, the plates being secured together and to the frame C by bolts B, and may be formed in two parts to permit the coil F to be placed in position. Pole-pieces G corresponding in size to the gap E and coil F are secured to the ends of permanent magnets carried by a non-magnetic spider H secured to the axle D ; or the field magnets may be energized by a continuous-current coil. The current flows in opposite directions through the coil F during successive half revolutions of the axle D. |
