Zusammenfassung: | 9209. McCrea, G. E., Bramley, F. H., and Thorn, H. J. W. May 3. Vibration, preventing.-Relates to anti-vibration arrangements for cycles and other vehicles. Fig. 1 shows the application to the front of a bicycle. The forks a are continued upwards, and are connected by a bridge or arch c above the top lug. A C-shaped spring f is secured between a bridge e connecting the forks and the lower end of the steering-post. A guide-rod g may be secured to the bridge e so as to fit loosely in the steering-post. A rubber washer h may be placed between the spring f and the bridge e. The handle-bar stem may be secured by any suitable means in the steering-tube and may be made irregular in shape to slide in a similar hole in the arch c and prevent relative rotation in the steering-mechanism. When applied to the rear part of a bicycle, as shown in Fig. 3, a spring j is secured between bridges m, n secured to tubes l, k respectively as shown. The chain stays are pivoted by any suitable means to the bottom bracket and fork ends. |
