Zusammenfassung:2712. Wertenbruch, F. Feb. 8. Automatic-feed weighers; bearings; equi-armed balances.-An automatic grain-weighing machine is shown in Figs. 1, 7, and 8. The grain passes from the feed-hopper f into the receptacle d until the pivoted lever k, which normally presses upwards against the end of the beam a, causes the beam to tilt, and then the catch a releases the partial feedgate h. The partial feed-gate h, Figs. 7 and 8, and cut-off gate h are carried by shafts g, g at the sides of the hopper. Further tilting of the beam frees a toggle joint, and allows the cut-off gate to close. Compensating-weights d are provided to balance grain which has left the hopper but not reached the receptacle. The cut-off gate, when closing, strikes and releases a catch d on the receptacle gate d , and allows the gate to open and the receptacle to discharge into a funnel e, which is carried by counterweighted levers e . The receptacle gate now closes and, when the grain has passed out of the opening in the funnel, the funnel rises, and its rod e strikes a lever h on the shaft g and opens the shutters. By means of a hand-lever f the machine can be worked non- automatically. When the machine is adapted for weighing flour &c., the hopper &c. is surrounded by a sack-holder p, Fig. 3, to which the sack p is attached. The sack-holder is covered by a casing r, which may be covered by canvas or connected to a dust chamber. A knife-edge bearing for weighing-machines has a guide-edge u, Fig. 4, which engages with a groove v in the top bearing, and guides the receptacle when the beam tilts.
