Zusammenfassung:15,964. Stumpf, J. Sept. 7. Windows. - S t u d s 4, 5, 6, 7, projecting from the upper and lower sash stiles 1, 2, are arranged to slide in guide-grooves 12, 13,14, 15 in the pulley stiles 3, so that the sashes can be swivelled inwards on their lower studs, or removed from the frame. When the window is closed, the sashes fit one over the other in the same plane with the studs in the outer guidegrooves 12. The upper studs 6 of the lower sash are shot by a button 18 into sockets 19 in the pulley stiles, in order to fasten the sashes. When a sash is turned inwards, the upper studs slide in the curved crossgrooves 14, and recessed socket plates 17 at the lower end of the sash engage with fixed retaining-studs 16, which prevent the sash from being drawn up by the balance weights. Spring stops 24, 25, 26 support the sash in an inclined position, and are bevelled underneath so that they are forced back automatically when the sash is turned upwards. The sash cords are attached to the lower studs of the sashes, and pass through holes 10, 11 in the pulley stiles to the weights. A sash is removed from the frame by raising it, then removing the lower studs along the grooves 14, and afterwards the upper studs. A groove 20 of the top sash engages with a bead 21 projecting from the window head, and all the ordinary beads are dispensed with. Flat springs 28 in the grooves 14 serve as stops for the studs 6. For double windows, the grooves &c. are duplicated.
