Piles b support two pairs of parallel horizontal bars a, one above the level of the water and the other at the bottom, an intermediate pair being employed, if desired. Secured within these bars are angle iron brackets which carry flat vertical bars d arranged like the laths of a venetian blind. In a modification, the brackets are replaced by lugs to which the vertical bars d are pivoted, so that relative horizontal displacement of the bars a rotates the bars d about their vertical axes. |
