Zusammenfassung: | 12,484. Bargamin, C., and Batchelor, O. D. June 15. Gas supply, controlling.-Relates to a gas regulating and cut-off attachment for a gas stove. A valve casing 4 having nipples 5 connects the gas supply pipe 2 with the burner passage. A bracket 6 is connected to the casing 4, and to it is pivoted a lever 7 connected to the valve stem 8. The extremity of the lever 7 is connected, through a link 10 with a spring arm 11, carrying at one end a knob 12 and at the other a socket 13, by which it is secured to the pipe 2. The knob 12 projects above the top of the stove-plate, so that, when the vessel &c. to be heated is placed thereon, the knob is depressed and the valve is opened through the connecting links and levers. When the vessel &c. is removed, the spring arm 11 returns to its original position, and serves to close or throttle the gas supply. A spring on the valve stem 8 may be used to assist the closing of the valve. The link 10 is threaded, and provided with a thumb-nut 14 for adjusting the arm 7, so that the valve may be adjusted to fully or partially cut off the gas supply. |
