Zusammenfassung: | 8551. Mulholland, R. April 24. Shafts, couplings for. The draw-bar 2, Fig. 4. notched at 21 to receive the link 22, has a lined hemispherical bearing, and is hinged to the cap 7, which has a corresponding bearing and a lug 25 to which the spring 26 is pivoted. In coupling, the ball end of the shaft is placed in the lower portion of the bearing- socket, and the cap is closed and locked by turning the spring 26, the bentback portion 28 of which rests in a groove in the bottom of the draw-bar, into the position shown, so that the nose 24 of the lever 23 engages the recess 27. In the modification shown in Fig. 11, one end of the clip 3 is prolonged and forms the pivot of a spring clamp 41, which has a projection engaging, when the parts are coupled, the recess 43 of the extension 34 of the cover 33. |
