Zusammenfassung: | 8090. Norton, E. E., and Phillips, W. P. April 18. Planing and shapinq ; screwing.-Relates to reversing driving-gear for planing, shaping, and screw-cutting machine &c. The driving-pulley 3 runs loose upon the shaft; it may be connected to it through a clutch A, or through a reversing- train consisting of a set of rollers 7, carried by a disc C, which may be caused to gear with the inner surface of the pulley rim and with a disc 4 fixed to the shaft. The disc C, while free to slide upon the shaft, is not allowed to rotate ; it and the cone B, for operating the clutch, are worked by forked arms projecting from a rod 11, mounted behind the shaft, which is moved to and fro in its supporting-bracket by a hand-lever 14. This rod may, by means of a spring 20, be locked in either - of its extreme positions, or it may be held in the mid-position, when the shaft remains at rest. |
