Improvements in Step Ladders

6850. Duckworth, T. March 30. Ladders.-The steps are connected to the back legs or supports B by hinged plates M, N, formed with hemispherical pivots and sockets R, Q. The plates are secured to the ladder by cross-bolts passing through holes 0, P, and ribs S of the plates N enter recesses in the sides of the ladder. A cross-bar A of the back supports forms an extension of the top step D when the ladder is in use. ‹A V-shaped stay H is pivoted to turn on a cross-bolt J, and slides in a slot G of a bar F fixed between cross-bars A, E of the back supports. The bars A, E may be grooved to receive cross-bolts.
