Zusammenfassung: | 1432. Tigler, R., and Surmann, W. Jan. 20. Moving-beater apparatus.-Coal dust or fine coal, and tar, pitch, or other binding-materials used for making artificial fuel, are mixed and dried by means of apparatus comprising a hollow perforated shaft 13, carrying hollow and slotted arms 16, and rotating within a casing 1, which is divided into a series of compartments by partitions 4, 5, 6. Hot air passes into the shaft 13 from a pipe 15, and flows through the arms 16 and slots 17 into the compartments ; the waste air and the vapours given off from the fuel escape by means of pipes 18. The materials are fed to the apparatus by a conveyer 21, and they are swept by the arms 16 from compartment to compartment, through apertures 9 in the partitions. The mixed and dried materials are swept into a reciprocating box or trough 24 actuated by rocking levers 28, 29 and chain gearing 27. When the box or trough has reached its most forward position, a plate 30, connected to an oscillating lever 31, is forced into the back of the box or trough, and during the return stroke forces the charge of material into a conveyer trough 26. The casing 1 has a steam jacket with a steam inlet passage 20, and an outlet 25. |
