Zusammenfassung: | 21,568. Koerte, C., and Atkinson, I. Oct. 13. Tunnelling; undercutting.-Relates to coalcutting machines especially suitable for end work and adapted to cut roads approximately square in form or of other shape. The cutter tool V is carried by an arm J mounted on the shaft H. A pin K on the arm J works in the slotted crank E attached to the revolving barrel D, and the shaft H is mounted eccentrically in the inner revolving barrel G. These barrels D, G are driven at different speeds, so that the tool follows a square path, by means of worm gearing F, L. The worm-wheel L may be disengaged from the barrel G by withdrawing the pin L' so that the two barrels revolve together in order to give a circular path to the tool over part or the whole of the periphery of the road. The worm gearing is driven by the motor N through clutch and bevel gearing R , chain gearing P', spur gearing N , and crank disc. A percussive cutter may be used, or the rotary tool V as shown. This is driven through spur and chain gearing on the arm J from a shaft T lying in the hollow shaft H and driven by a chain of spur and bevel gearing from the motor. |
