Zusammenfassung: | 29,199. Little, W. G., and Little, C. W. G. Dec. 9. Steam - engine and like indicators. -Relates to the type of apparatus described in Specification No. 17,575, A.D. 1894. To reduce jar and vibration, the integrating-wheel C is dished so that the bearing A of the oscillating shaft B may be placed close to the drum D, the shaft B being bent at B to clear the wheel. The carriage E, for supporting the shaft B, turns on the cylinder F and is fixed in position for action by a tapered screw G , but can be turned away on withdrawing the screw. The adjustable centres b , b of the integrating- wheel C are carried respectively by an arm b projecting from the shaft B and by a V-shaped frame b secured to the shaft and supporting the counter H. Normally the wheel C is pressed against the cylinder D by a spring J acting on the end of the shaft B, but an adjustable wedgeshaped sector K is provided for drawing back the wheel when desired. A slotted head M is connected to the piston-rod by a split sleeve m and screw m , so that it is removable. The head M engages with a crank-pin l having a boss l adjustable longitudinally on the crank, the latter having a boss l adjustable around the shaft B, these parts being secured together when the proper relative positions have been determined. The shaft of the drum D, which is carried by a bridge O, is coned at its lower end to fit an adjustable coned bearing g and cupped at its upper to receive a screw o, all these fittings being pierced axially for the reception of a lubricant, which may be discharged by withdrawing the screw g . g and c are lock nuts for securing the parts in position. The bridge 0 is clamped by a split sleeve o and screw o . To allow of the cord being readily removed, the bole d for the knot is cut through the edge of the drum. O is a screw stop for a projection on the drum and a second projection d , acting on projections on two rings Q, Q as the apparatus is working, sets such projections apart an amount equal to the stroke of the drum, which may be read off on the rings by means of a scale and vernier. A sleeve D , turning with the drum but adjustable axially upon it, forms a bearing- surface for the integrating- wheel C. |
