Zusammenfassung: | 21,603. Allen, J. F. Sept. 21. Water-tube boilers.-Horizontal lower headers d, d are joined up to inclined water tubes f, which by bulbous ends open to horizontal pipes e communicating with the steam and water drum g. Two additional steam and water drums h are provided, being joined to the upper drum by suitable unions. The drums h open to a small cross-pipe l and the vertical pipe j, through which feed and circulating water passes to the base of the boiler. The upper part of the pipe contains a non- return valve. By means of handholes d , cleaning-rods can be inserted in the tubes f, which are placed at such an angle as to permit of this being accomplished. The upper parts of the boiler are slung from overhead girders. In a modification, the upper headers open in the crown of the upper steam and water-drum. |
