Zusammenfassung: | 170,721. Frink, R. L. Aug. 19, 1920. Gathering molten metal; moulding under pressure. - Relates to the moulding of solid glass articles such as vault lights, pavement prisms, porthole lights, inkwells, paper-weights, pedestals, door knobs, castors, electrical insulators, &c. According to the invention, the apparatus consists of a moulding-chamber 3 detachably secured to a vacuum chamber 1 by clamps 11, the chambers 1, 3 being separated by a perforated diaphragm 2. The orifice 13 is immersed in molten glass and the air is exhausted through a pipe 6 and control valve 7. When the mould 3 is full, it is lifted and a shear 15 operated. The finished article is removed when cool. |
