Zusammenfassung:164,992. Hariveõu, P. Aug. 11, 1920. Securing wheels &c. on shafts. - A means for securing wheels, pulleys, sleeves, and rotors of centrifugal pumps, turbines, fans, &c. to shafts comprises the combination with a key of one or two flexible split rings adapted to form abutments for the hubs &c. A key A, securing a hub &c. D to a shaft C, has recesses E, F adjacent to the ends of the part D for the reception of flexible split rings G. Each ring is mounted by sliding it along the shaft and either forcing its free ends against the end of the key A, which may be rounded, or otherwise opening the ring. The rings spring into the recesses E, F, and may then be turned through 180‹. For security, the gaps in the rings may normally be narrower than the key. and the ends thereof may be clipped together. To prevent rotation, each ring may have opposite the gap a recess to engage the key, the recesses E, F in which may be correspondingly shallower. In one modification, several keys are used, and, in another, the rings G are in two parts hinged together and clipped at the open ends.
