Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:136,858. Vivian, A. W. H. June 26, 1918. Spray burners; burners, mounting and adjusting.- Relates to burners of the type comprising a tubular body A provided with a tapering barrel B and enlargements C, D and supplied with compressed air through an axial jet E, with atmospheric air, gases, or steam, or a mixture of these through the enlargements, and with the hydrocarbons through a lateral inlet H, steam or compressed air, or both, being delivered around the burner mouth from an annular chamber I. (1) The central passage in the body is differentially tapered, the taper being greater between the points B , B than at the part B. (2) The enlargements are spherical or approximately spherical, the forward one D being the larger. (3) Forwardly-directed air-collectors are arranged at the front of, and preferably beyond, the burner mouth, so that the air drawn therethrough into the enlargements is preheated. These collectors are bell-mouthed and arranged at the ends of pipes F, G. (4) The air is delivered from the chamber I through jets J in a ring J parallel to the axis of the burner bore and cuts the diverging lines on B of the fuel mixture. The burner is carried by a boss A so as to be vertically and angularly adjustable. Specifications 2590/14 and 106,839 are referred to.
