Sounds, controlling and actuating apparatus by. - Relates to electric contacting devices of the kind actuated by sound waves or the like and having one electrode constituted or carried by a hollow float more or less immersed in a liquid. According to the invention, an electrode is carried on a wall of a float, which wall acts as a vibrating diaphragm under the influence of the sound or like waves. In the form shown in Fig. 4, one electrode 31 is attached to an insulating post 32 fixed to a diaphragm 33, and the other electrode is attached to the vibrating upper wall of a float 30. In other forms, floats with vibrating electrodes carrying bottom walls are used, and both electrodes are attached to floats. These devices are intended chiefly for use in conjunction with the invention described in Specification 130,376.
