Zusammenfassung:1299618 Fire-resistant polycarbonate compositions BAYER AG 4 June 1970 [13 June 1969] 27021/70 Heading C3R Thermoplastic polycarbonates of dihydric phenols, which may be wholly or partially halogenated, are rendered fire-resistant by incorporation of an alkali metal, ammonium, or quaternary ammonium perfluoroalkanesulphonate, preferably derived from a sulphonic acid having 4 to 8 carbon atoms. The additive may be incorporated during the preparation of the polycarbonate or may be subsequently added to the melt; preferably 0À01 to 1% relative to the weight of polycarbonate is used. Other additives, e.g. glass fibre may also be used. The invention is exemplified by compositions comprising bisphenol-A polycarbonate and co-polymers thereof with tetrachloro-bisphenol- A.
