description 129,785. Douglas Motors, Ltd., Bailey, S. L., and Douglas, W. W. July 13, 1918, Visible feeds.-A sight. feed device for motorcycles &c. provided with lubrication under pressure comprises a barrel-shaped chamber A with one or more flat windows B, and containing water through which oil from a nozzle D ascends in drops to an outlet at the upper end of the chamber. An adjustable spindle K pressing on a ball F forms a regulating-valve, and a lower ball E acts as a check valve, a spring G being placed between the two balls. Excess of oil supplied through a pipe C returns to the pump through a by-pass valve J. In a modification, the lower end of the spindle K is tapered and works in an opening as a needle valve, the ball F being omitted.
