Zusammenfassung:	1294551 Fuels DOW CHEMICAL CO 21 Jan 1970 [21 Jan 1969 24 Nov 1969] 3004/70 Heading C5G [Also in Division C3] A thickened fuel comprises a normally liquid hydrocarbon containing 0À2 to 10 weight per cent of a synthetic organic polymer soluble in the hydrocarbon, the polymer having 0À1 to 3 weight per cent (based on the polymer) of oxygen-containing compound polymerized therein, the oxygen-containing compound being selected from olefinically unsaturated copolymerizable (a) acids containing up to 6 carbon atoms, (b) amides containing up to 4 carbon atoms, e.g. acrylamide, (c) hydroxyalkyl acrylic esters, e.g. 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, 2- hydroxypropyl methacrylate, 3-hydroxypropyl methacrylate, 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate, 2-hydroxypropyl acrylate, 3-hydroxypropyl acrylate and (d) sulphonic acids, e.g. 2-sulphoethyl methacrylate, 2-sulphoethyl acrylate, 3- vinylbenzenesulphonic acid, 2-benzenesulphonic acid. The preferred copolymer is t-butylstyrene/ methacrylic acid. Jet fuel is specified.
