Zusammenfassung:	1292376 Hydrophones NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT "GIDROPRIBOR" 12 March 1970 12010/70 Heading G4F An hydrophone to be towed behind a vessel is provided with means to offset the centre of gravity of the hydrophone with reference to the symmetry plane of the hydrophone Ónd means to offset the towing point with reference to the same plane. When in use, for example for monitoring the characteristics of a trawl, the hydrophone moves away from the wake of the towing vessel so as to avoid acoustic interference. As shown in Fig. 2, housing 3 enclosing a transducer is mounted below a wing 1. The position of the centre of gravity of the hydrophone is changed by means of a weight 5 and a float 6, and the position of the towing point 8 is changed by sliding it along shaft 11. The position of the towing point may also be altered along the longitudinal axis of the hydroplane in order to vary its submersion depth. The shackle 21 supporting housing 3 may turn on shaft 22 so that the transducer is maintained in correct position.
