Zusammenfassung:1282555 High vacuum jet pumps UNITED KINGDOM ENERGY AUTHORITY 31 July 1969 [31 July 1968] 36532/68 Heading F1E In an ejector pump the operating medium is arranged to be derived by boiling by an electrical resistor heater element 18 formed from a porous resistor material and through which the fluid is caused to flow. The working fluid is delivered from a reservoir 17 by a metering pump 25 via a pipe 24 to the element 18. As shown a single stage pump has the element 18 as a thick walled openended cylinder. Other embodiments may comprise two stage pumps, and a single stage horizontal pump. The heater element may be in the form of a disc and disposed at the bottom of the pump. A steam ejector pump, Fig. 7 (not shown) is also described. The face of the heater element may be electrically insulated so that liquid may enter the porous structure before vaporization occurs. The operating medium may be water, mercury, or a phlegmatic organic liquid.
