Zusammenfassung:1276623 N-nitroso heterocyclic compounds FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER AG 9 Feb 1970 6182/70 Heading C2C Novel compounds of general formula in which R is a bifunctional aliphatic radical with up to 20 carbon atoms such that Y and the N attached to R are separated by not more than 8 carbon atoms (which latter carbon atoms may form part of a cycloaliphatic radical), or R is an optionally substituted bifunctional aromatic radical such that Y and the N attached to R are ortho to each other, or R is an optionally substituted bifunctional araliphatic radical such that two of the carbon atoms between the Y and the N attached to R belong to the aromatic ring system; R2 is H, C 1-19 aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical which may be substituted by hydroxy groups, a 5 or 6 membered aromatic-heterocyclic radical, a radical -CHO or n being 1-6, or an optionally substituted phenyl radical; Y is -O-, -CO 2 -, -COHN-, -SO 2 -, -SO 2 O-, -SO 2 NH-, -NR 1 -, -CONR 1 -, -SO 2 NR 1 - in which R1 is an aliphatic radical, an optionally substituted aryl radical or a 5 or 6 membered heterocyclic radical with one N atom, are made by reacting a compound of formula XRNH 2 (or salt thereof) with an approximately equimolar amount of an aldehyde of formula R2CHO and at least one mole of nitrous acid (or compound yielding it) at -30‹ to +20‹ C., X being OH, NHR 1 , CO 2 H, CO 2 R 1 , CONH 2 , CONHR 1 , SO 2 H, SO 3 H, SO 2 NH 2 or SO 2 NHR 1 and the conditions applying to Y in the definition of R above here applying to X; and R 1 and R 2 being as above defined. The novel compounds can be used as molluscidally acting agents.
