Zusammenfassung:	1276414 Gas/liquid contact apparatus A I GERSHENOVICH V M JURIEV M B KATS L S GENIN R S SVERDLOV V P KRASNOKUTSKY Y K SHTEINBERG A S GAISIN and T F ELISEEVA 14 Nov 1970 54303/70 Heading B1R An apparatus for gas/liquid contact comprises a column having vertically spaced horizontal perforated plates 2, e.g. sieve plates, through which gas and liquid are passed cocurrently and upwardly, and a tube 7 leading from an upper to a lower part of the column whereby a natural circulation of liquid within the column can take place. As shown the tube 7 incorporates a heat exchanger 8. In another embodiment a plurality of tubes such as 7 are provided each tube having a heat exchanger and extending, e.g. between an upper and a lower part of a section of the column between two perforated plates. The apparatus may be used for chlorinated hydrocarbons.
