Zusammenfassung: | 1275843 Preparing organotin halides BRITISH TITAN Ltd 19 April 1971 [22 April 1970] 9289/71 Divided out of 1275842 Heading C2J An organotin halide is prepared by reacting tin, usually in powdered form, with an organohalide in the presence of a catalytic quantity of an alkoxide or aryloxide of a Group V metal, especially Sb or As, and free iodine or an iodide. The metal catalyst may be an iodoalkoxide. The organo group may be alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl, numerous groups being specified, and the organohalide is a monohalide or may contain two or more halogen atoms. In the example, diorganotin dihalide is prepared from octyl bromide using iodine and 2-ethylhexyl-, butyl-, or phenyl-antimonite or noctylarsenite as catalyst. |
