Zusammenfassung: | 1275842 Preparing organotin halides BRITISH TITAN Ltd 19 April 1971 [22 April 1970] 19164/70 Heading C2J An organotin halide is prepared by reacting tin, usually in powder form, with an organohalide in the presence of a catalytic quantity of an alkoxide or aryloxide of a Group IV metal, especially Si, Ti or Zr. The reaction may be carried out also in the presence of free iodine or an iodide as further catalyst. The metal catalyst is preferably a tetraalkyl titanate but an alkyl ethanolamine titanate, dialkyl-(dialkylaceto)- titanate, alkyl silicate or metal iodoalkoxide may also be used. The organo group may be alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl, numerous groups being specified, and the organo - halide is a monohalide or may contain two or more halogen atoms. In the examples, diorganotin dihalides are prepared from octyl bromide, chloride and iodide and butyl bromide. |
