Zusammenfassung:1,269,105. Separating water from tar. VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY I KONSTRUKTORSKY INSTITUT KHIMICHESKOGO MASHINOSTROENIA. 24 Sept., 1969, No. 46926/69. Heading B1D. [Also in Division C5] Coal tar is dehydrated by subjecting a stream of the tar to ultrasonic vibrations having a density not less than 0.5 watts/cm3 for a time sufficient for finely dispersed water droplets in the tar to coalesce and form drops which separate from the tar. Times mentioned range from 0.5 to 1.5 minutes.
