Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:1,268,598. Cycloaliphatic sulphides. PENNWALT CORP. 6 Aug., 1970 [8 Aug., 1969], No. 37997/70. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C3] The invention comprises compounds of the formulae wherein R 1 is a straight chain C 8 -C 30 alkyl group, R 2 is H or a C 1 -C 6 straight or branched chain alkyl group, R 4 is a straight chain C 9 -C 30 alkyl group and R1 is a straight or branched chain C 1 -C 6 alkylene group. They may be prepared either by reacting a cyclic diolefin with H 2 S and then with a mono-olefin, or by reacting a mono-olefin with H 2 S and then reacting this mercaptan with a cyclic diolefin. Examples are given for the preparation of the compounds. They are useful as secondary antioxidants for polyolefins. #-Mercaptoethyl-3(or 4)-mercaptocyclohexane may be obtained by reacting 4-vinylcyclohexene-1 with excess H 2 S in the presence of U.V. light.
