Zusammenfassung: | 1,268,351. Inflatable article. JOHN ORME Ltd. 25 June, 1969 [26 June, 1968], No. 30359/ 68. Heading A6M. [Also in Division B5] An inflatable article of plastics material, such as a toy which when inflated is of such a size that a child can sit on it and use it as a bouncing vehicle, comprises (prior to inflation) two substantially parallel side portions which have parallel planar outer surfaces and which are joined together by an integral connecting portion joined to the side portions around their edges, such that the distribution of the plastics material at each of the joins between the side portions and the connecting portion is greater than the thickness of the plastics material at the side portions, so that upon inflation, only the side portions expand to any substanital extent to provide a bulbous shape, and the connecting portion forms a rib portion extending entirely around the toy. The figure shows an inflated toy 10 in the shape of an animal, with side 12 and connecting portion 13. The article may be inflated through a non-return valve situated in the connecting portion; and the plastics material may be polyvinyl chloride, which can be charged into the mould (see Division B5) in the form of a plastisol. |
