A linear reinforced concrete element of polygonal cross-section is provided with a lattice framing consisting of metal strips, which may be angles 2, at the corners and flush with the faces of the element welded to transverse bars 3 parallel with said faces, the ends of the strips co-inciding with the ends of the element. Such lattice framing facilitates the welded connection between elements, and in particular a T-shape connection may be so formed as at A, Fig. 3, in a composite girder formed by a plurality of the reinforced concrete elements 4, 5.
