Zusammenfassung: | 1,261,978. Mercury-cathode cells. Z.A. ABBASOV, G.I. VOLKOV, P.A. DOLGANOV, G.M. KAMARIAN, D.I. KERNER, B.N. KORF, L.N. KOSTROMIN, V.L. KUBASOV, V.M. MAKAROY, V.B. NELIDOV, N.D. PUSHKARSKAY, M.S. SOGOMONYAN, V.I. RYBKIN, V.N. SUCHKOV, L.N.SHIFRIN, L.M. YAKIMENKO. P.N. KRAVTSOV and Y.K. SHTEINBERG. Dec. 22, 1969, No. 62370/69. Heading C7B. The outlet end box 3 of a flowing mercurycathode electrolytic cell comprises a separation (brine and amalgam receiving) compartment 14 communicating with an electrolysis chamber 1 of the cell by a first gate e. g. through a slot under partition 12, and an amalgam washing compartment 13 within the separation compartment and communicating therewith by a second gate, e. g. defined by a channel 18 in the cell bottom 17 and part of the washing compartment wall 16 depending into the channel, which is disposed at an angle, preferably a right-angle, to the first gate to cause a change in flow direction. As shown brine and mercury are supplied through pipes 6, 8 in the inlet end box 2 of the cell to flow beneath partition 10 submerged in the brine, the level of which is determined by chlorine and anclyte connection pipe 11; washed amalgam leaves through outlet 19. |
