[Also in Divisions F3 and F4] A target holder comprises first and second elongate portions 11, 12 each having a target engaging member 17, 21, the target engaging member 17 of the first portion 11 having at least one projection 19 extending towards the second portion 12 and the second portion having at least one slot 23 in the upper edge thereof, the parts 24, 25, 28 of the upper edge formed by the slot(s) being deformed towards the first portion 11. Clamping means, e.g. bolts 18 and wing nuts 26, are provided to draw the portions 11, 12 together about the target.
