Zusammenfassung: | 125,653. Donaldson, A. Oct. 11, 1916. Copying and reproducing mechanism. - A mechanism for use in turning and boring compound profiles, such as those of an ammunition projectile, comprises a base-plate A adjustably mounted on a bracket carried by the lathe or machine bed. A disk B let into the base is rotatable under and within a ring C, and is formed with a slot adapted to receive a slide-block D and to register, in one position of the disk, with a gap in the ring C and with guide-strips E', E . An arm F pivoted to the slide-rest at G is adjustably connected to the slide block D by a screwed sleeve H to provide for adjustment to the radius of the nose or other part to be turned. In the case of a projectile, turning commences from the nose, and the parts are initially in the position shown in dotted lines. The parts are so set that, when the nose portion is completed, the arm F contacts with a top L and is at rightangles to the axis of the lathe. The block D then passes out of the disk B between the bars E', E , and the lever N passes from the control of a stop 0, allowing a spring plunger R to lock the arm by a catch M. The action of the device may be reversed by reversing the base-plate A and changing the stop L over into the other hole provided. |
