Zusammenfassung:124,371. Eckersley, W. M. Aug. 21,1918. Signs, supporting. - Enamelled i r o n name plates, advertising plates, &c. are secured to walls, metal bridges, and other structures bv a frame-like backing a of wood held to the wall &c. by screws or stud bolts &c., the plate being held thereon by a wood beading or moulding c surrounding the backing and overlapping the front face of the plate. The edges of the backing a may slope inwards towards the wall, and the moulding shaped to correspond, so that, by uniting the corners of the moulding by wood dowels, the three parts are held together. Fig. 8 shows a crosssection of a modification in which the edge of the lower side of the backing slopes outwardly towards the wall, the edges of the vertical sides being similarly formed or otherwise making a right-angle with the wall. The lower side of the backing may have a ledge a to support the plate b, and the moulding is attached to the backing by screws d. The moulding may be formed with a gutter c for carrying off water, and the top gutter may be inclined from end to end or from the middle to each end.
