Zusammenfassung: | 1,242,704. Table tennis bats. AVON RUBBER CO. Ltd. 3 Dec., 1969 [10 Dec., 1968], No. 58547/68. Heading A6D. [Also in Division C3] A table tennis bat blade is provided on at least one side thereof with a resilient facing comprising a sheet having a resilient base and extending therefrom a plurality of resilient webs, the base and the webs defining discrete cavities. In Fig. 1, bat blade 2 has facing 4 of a moulded natural rubber sheet 6 comprising base 7 and, formed integrally therewith, webs 10, the edges of which are attached by adhesive to surface 14 of the blade. Air-containing cuboidal cavities 10 are defined by base 7, webs 10 and surface 14. The webs may be attached to a further resilient layer, of, e.g. micro-cellular or sponge rubber, placed between the webs and blade 2. Playing surface 8 of the blade is planar, but may be provided with webs, or with pimples or other protuberances. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the cavities defined by the base, webs and bat surface are hexagonal. Air-conducting apertures may be provided in the webs. |
