Zusammenfassung: | 1,237,016. Supporting recording &c. heads. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP. 22 Feb., 1969, No. 9664/69. Heading G5R. A transducer 18A is moved into flying relation to a record by moving a shaft 12 carrying a stop 14 and a stressed spring 13 until the force exerted by the spring on the stop is completely transferred to the transducer. A Bowden cable 16 rotates the shaft 12 against a restoring spring 20 and the transducer is mounted on a resilient support so that the system is fail-safe. The relative position of the spring 13 and stop 14 is pre-set during manufacture to establish a desired loading force. A number of transducers co-operating with opposite sides of magnetic discs may be moved simultaneously by a solenoid-operated shaft coupled to the shafts 12 of respective loading devices (Fig. 5, not shown). |
