Zusammenfassung: | 1,220,896. Sulphur - containing pyrimidine derivatives. SANDOZ Ltd. 4 Oct., 1968 [3 Nov., 1967; 2 July, 1968], No. 47160/68. Heading C2C. [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises thiazolo-pyrimidines of either of the formulµ in which R denotes a hydrogen atom or a phenyl radical, R 1 denotes a hydrogen, chlorine or fluorine atom, an alkoxy group of 1-4 carbon atoms or a phenyl radical, X denotes a hydrogen or chlorine atom or a trifluoromethyl group, A denotes a hydrogen atom, B denotes a hydroxy group, or A and B together denote a C-C bond, provided that, when X denotes chlorine, R 1 denotes chlorine also, and when X denotes a trifluoromethyl radical, R 1 denotes hydrogen. The compounds of the first formula are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula in which X 1 denotes a bromine or chlorine atom, with propylenethiourea of the formula The products of the second formula are prepared by dehydrating the products of the first formula by treatment with a strong mineral acid. The invention extends to the salts of the products with acids and also to the tautomeric equivalents of products of the first formula, these tautomers being assigned the formula Examples are given. The products have medicinal uses (see Division A5). |
