[Also in Division G4] A fluid logic element has a number of coaxial chambers of various cross-sectional areas and containing individually movable sliding elements 3-7 and a ball 8. The cross-sectional areas of elements 3 and 4 lying on one side of ball 8 are greater than that of the element 7 on the other side. Ball 8 seats against the shoulders of chamber 12 or 13 to pass fluid from passage 19 or 20 to output 23. By suitable connection of certain of the passages 16-22 to control signal inputs and constant pressure supplies, and by venting others, output 23 represents the logic function NOR, OR, AND, or NAND. The connections are described with reference to Figs. 2-5 (not shown) respectively. Reference is made to mechanical inputs through either of the ends of the element.
