Zusammenfassung:1,219,436. Drying of hollow ceramic articles. BRITISH CERAMIC RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. 8 May, 1969 [17 Aug., 1968], No. 39458/68. Heading F4G. Hollow ceramic articles, whose length subtantially exceeds their width or thickness, are dried while supported only by a base-plate 15, so that any change in their dimensions during drying causes no stresses. The base-plate is supported by one or more columns 12, which are hollow and have holes in them, so that hot air directed into the columns from below is impinged on to the inside of the hollow ceramic article, since the columns pass within the latter. A support assembly 5, 6, 7 rides along a conveyer rail 4, and supports a rotatable member 9 fixed to the columns 12. Movement of the support assembly along the conveyer rail will produce rotation of the whole suspended assembly whenever rail 10 which need not be continuous is present.
