A multiple inlet free ball check valve has an outlet fitting 12 with an axis 11 which passes through the centroid of a triangular (or square) plate 14 having secured to each of its sides an inlet structure. Each inlet structure has a baseplate formed with an inlet opening 20 providing a seat for a rubber ball 19, side walls 22 and arcuate ball guide means 21 joining at lines of intersection with the side walls and guide means of adjacent structures substantially at the corners of the plate 14, and a top wall 26 extending from the base-plate to the outlet fitting. The inside of the casing is coated with rubber.
